しかし一方で、同じく子育てに悩む女性からは共感や応援のコメントが多く寄せられている。「女だけが育児するのあたりまえじゃないよってそういう時代であってほしい。しばなんは時代の先駆者になってると思うよ」「しばゆーのしてることがすごいというか、ぷくまるを預けれる父親であることが希少価値であって、そんな日本がおかしいのかも知れない。」など、日本の今の考え方を改めなければならないと考え直せるきっかけにもなっているようだ。
また、別居生活を通じてさまざまな変化があったとも話している。夫婦間の関係については「前よりはドライな関係になってるかな」と話し、しかし「お互い心地いい距離感」になり、長く夫婦生活を続ける上ではメリットになると明かしている。さまざまな意見がある二人の子育て論であるが、古い考えに固執した日本の育児環境を変えていくという点では、影響力のある夫婦だからこそ発信し、変えていくことができるのかもしれない。
