2020年4月1日、料理系YouTuberのきまぐれクック（かねこ）が「潮干狩りの裏技教えます。あまり悪用しないでください。とれすぎます。」という動画を投稿した。悪用厳禁の潮干狩りの裏技とおいしそうなハマグリのお吸い物が話題になっている。

かねこは、ハマグリに狙いを定めて、潮干狩りに挑戦した。ハマグリに似た貝との違いを解説しながら、見事な手際で貝を集めていき、獲得した貝の量は10kgにも上った。砂出しと塩抜きの処理をした後、ハマグリでお吸い物を作った。
