大人気YouTuberのヒカルと、世界的アーティストの村上隆がコラボ服を発売することを発表した。
村上隆は今までにベルサイユや世界的アーティストのカニエ・ウエストとコラボし、2008年の世界で最も影響力のある100人にも選ばれた世界で注目されているアーティストだ。
今回のコラボはかなり異例であり、ヒカルの人柄と人脈の広さで叶ったコラボだといえる。

I am releasing a series of prints silkscreened on used paper coffee filters. I have a bizarre hoarding habit; my followers would know by now that I am utterly unable to throw away anything and am accumulating my fallen hair, beard, clipped finger nails, and shavings of my heels, among other things. I am of the firm belief that such shameful interiority is something absolutely crucial for one’s art, but of course I understand this is not a concept that is universally acceptable. The print series in question started with the used coffee filters I couldn’t bring myself to discard and kept accumulating in a special box for the past six years or so. I am a huge coffee aficionado and I drink more than five cups a day. In the process, so many coffee filters get used, and while they are left out to dry, they each acquire a unique stain pattern. For many years, I have contemplated how I might utilize the coffee filters I had accumulated through my abnormal obsession and make artwork out of them. Finally, this March, while I couldn’t step out of my studio due to the pandemic, I thought of painting and doing calligraphy on this medium, and when I actually tried it out, it made perfect sense. So we prepared the coffee filters for silkscreen printing by cleaning them, removing the molds and sanitizing them with alcohol, and coating them with a fixative for drawing. Of roughly 1,200 used filters I had, we rejected around 500 during the cleanup process for having tears and holes. Once cleaned, we ironed them flat, gave them a clear base coat, and screen printed each in two layers. The process till completion has thus been quite complex, and it was introduced earlier on Hypebeast’s IGTV @hypebeast post as well. @tonari_no_zingaro translation: @tabi_the_fat
