11月10日にジャニーズ事務所公式ホームページにて、山下智久が退所していたことが明らかになり、話題となっていた件で手越祐也は、その胸の内を語った。

手越祐也は、山下智久と同じアイドルグループ・NEWSに所属していたことを説明し、当時の山下智久の印象に対して「かっけぇ！！！」と述べる一面があった。

手越祐也は、山下智久と2011年から仕事やプライベートでの親交はないと言う。
その上で、立場・所属が変わった今、約10年ぶりに山下智久とコラボすることを夢に持っていると続けた。山下智久と一緒に活動することで「すごいものが生まれる可能性もあると思う」「ワクワクする」など目を輝かせ笑いながら、胸の内を明かした。
